How to check vital signs
How to check vital signs as a nurse or nursing assistant is a nursing skills video intended to assist nursing students in understanding the main steps needed in carrying out any test on a sick patient. Every licensed and registered nurse is expected to perform routine tests which help in the treatment of sick patients since symptoms usually accompany each disease. These vital signs assist in assessing and developing a picture of how a sick person is performing health-wise. The objectives of the provided video are to demonstrate how nursing students should always check the outstanding six signs which are, respiration, oxygen saturation, and signs of pain, heartbeat rates, temperature and blood pressure. Also, tips on how to check vital signs in an adult are considered.
On using this video, I will divide the six signs used in determining the level of sickness into objectives and request all my students to be ready with materials such as thermometers. Day one of learning will be to cover objective one as temperature detection. In this, every student should be well prepared with their thermometers. After observing the video, I will divide the students into two groups; one group will act as practicing nurses undertaking a test on a sick patient while the second group will be the sick patients themselves. The act will then be reversed with the students who acted as nurses will act as patients while those who were patients will act and vice versa.
Wait! Clinical Labs and Instructional Videos paper is just an example!
After completing this exercise, I will set up an assessment test for the student to give detailed information on how to conduct a temperature detection test. For the rest five signs, we will follow the same procedure, and the students will be experienced in the field.
