Peter Drucker’s quote on leadership means that people often get misguided that those in leadership should always make decisions that favor the subjects. However, situations tend to change and often, leadership means being steadfast while making decisions regardless of whether they will be supported or not. Great leaders can achieve tremendous results while still following social and moral standards (Goleman, 2017). Fuchan Yuan’s quote, on the other hand, means that for a leader to be good at what they do, they have to possess humility to relate well with others, they also ought to have clarity in other words should be visual and they should be courageous to dare to achieve what is needed no matter the circumstance.
These two quotes speak volumes about leadership and what it stands for. I believe that they view leadership in nearly the same perspective. Both require the leaders to make clear and logical decisions (Goleman, 2017). Leaders also ought to make tough choices irrespective of the circumstance. During decision making, both quotes require the leader to have high moral and social standards.
These two quotes have tremendously helped in understanding leadership today in that, leaders make stern decisions concerning their work without the fear of contempt from their subjects. Also, for leaders to successfully carry out their duties they should have certain virtues. Leadership, according to the two quotes should always be for the benefit of those being guided, so the success of leadership depends on how the leader executes his or her duties.
