Course Reflection
I have acquired a lot of important knowledge and skills which are cardinal for my cooking and pastry career. Some of the topics which I have learned are based on food safety, nutrition, baking ingredients, hospitality, and principles of designs. Thus, I have learned how to create very consumer friendly pastries, confections, artisan bread, and chocolates. With regards to the topic of nutrition and ingredients, I have learned how to mix different ingredient components together with balanced and healthy products in mind. The topic of food safety taught me about the different tools through which food can be properly prepared, processed, and handled. Besides, considering the fact I would like to have my own restaurant, I have acquired a lot of knowledge in different ways through which I can run and manage.
I believe the knowledge that I have attained from the course will help boost the credibility of my resume and cover letter more so due to the fact internship opportunities the university offered. I found the internship program much more beneficial as it not only allowed me to have the opportunity to apply the skills and knowledge acquired but also build my personal experience (Daugherty 474). Also, the internship program approach granted me the opportunity to network with all the other chefs I encountered during that period. Thus, the internship experience has helped greatly improve my resume and cover letter. However, I think there are some changes which are required to be done.

For example, I would encourage that more effort and time be put on involving students many practical lessons than theory. More practical lessons will help improve students’ skills and experience in cooking the different foods.
