Information books can be in any discipline and nearly every possible topic. The writer of such books attempts to clarify or convey facts in a comprehensible manner to the reader.
My choice of information book is Class 3: Environmental Studies. In this book, the author has applied the tree principles of teaching (Wells, 1999). The author starts with the familiar facts before introducing the unknown concepts about the topic. The reason for starting with the everyday issues and facts is to make sure that the younger readers will understand progressively as he or she advances to the unknown facts. The other principle of teaching applied by the author in the book is starting with the simple facts before moving on to the further complicated facts. The author has made sure that the first chapter of the book begins with simple information and facts that are easy to understand before progressing to the more complex facts. In the subsequent chapters, the author has advanced to introduce the further complicated facts and information. The young readers will find it easy to comprehend the complicated facts once they have been submitted to the simple, unadorned facts first.
