Internship Report

During my internship with the Oklahoma Blood Institute, I participated in the main campus North Donors and Edmond street. There, I worked closely with the mobile unit where we were moving from one place to another. My position in work was irregular which resulted in the working hours vary depending on the location that we visited. Hours assigned added up to a total of 320 hours and I completed them between February 4th and May 5th. I attended too many duties which I have listed below:
Simple administrative responsibilities like registering new donors who were coming to the center, welcoming them and other light clerical duties.
I played a significant role during the launch of AliveCor AFbi mobile screenings. The activity happened all across Oklahoma and helped many people which I feel proud to have participated.
I performed many random duties such as conducting testing, logging, filling agreement forms for the donors and informing patients about results that came out after the screening. In addition to the above, I also provided Electrocardiography (ECG) for the participants with possible AFib and charging device.
Providing t-shirts for the donors after completing was an enjoyable task as they were happy to have helped another person.
Snacks are essential for a donor after he or she has completed donating and it was my task to that snacks and beverages were always ready and available.
I assisted in special random events that happened in the course of my stay.
Acted as a guide to students who were volunteering through ensuring that each one of them participates in the appropriate task or tasks at OU, OSU, SNU, and UCO.
