Abstract
Kohn Pederson Fox (KPF) is an architectural firm which builds some of the tallest structures of the world. Some of the structures it has constructed include the recently completed 530-meter skyscraper which is the second tallest building in China in Guangzhou and the 555-meter in Seoul called The Lotte World Tower which is the fifth tallest in the world. The 600-meter buildings are termed Mega tall. The Shenzhen skyscraper is the fourth tallest building in the world. The Dubai Burj Khalifa is the tallest of all in the world. The Shenzhen building is chevron-shaped columns at its corners, and it narrows towards its faceted enclosure at the summit. It also broadens to where it meets the street on the ground. The podium level is completed with transparent walls while the central atrium is filled with natural lights.
KPF’s Shenzhen skyscraper
The skyscraper was displayed in the architectural interior design magazine on the current technology. The skyscraper was designed by an architectural firm called Kohn Pederson Fox (KPF) and is 599-meter tall. It is the fourth tallest building in the world after the Dubai’s 828-meter Burj Khalifa, Shanghai Tower of 632-metre and Makkah Royal Clock Tower which is 601-meter. It provides the loftiest views in the town. The building is located in the business district of Futian providing the headquarters of Ping An, a Chinese insurance company (Kohn, Eugene, and Paul, 126).

The skyscraper is chevron-shaped columns at its corners, and it narrows towards its faceted enclosure at the summit. It also broadens to where it meets the street on the ground. It is designed to reduce the wind loss on the structure by having its tapered with glass and stones. The wet climate on the skyscraper has been overcome its stainless steel piers which also help in deterring the lightning strikes.
Large conference lobby and big shops occupy the five levels of the skyscraper on the side which stagger away from the structure forming the podium level. The Kohn Pederson Fox (KPF) intended to create an amphitheater atmosphere by having the glazed walls and the central atrium completed and filled with natural lights (Kohn, Eugene, and Paul, 263).
The Finance Centre of the Ping A part of the skyscraper was finished in December 2017, after seven years of continuous construction work. The architectural firm felt shy of the structure reaching the category of the mega tall when it was 599 meters. However, the KPF has a current plan of constructing a 68-story skyscraper called Brooklyn Point Tower. It will be the second-tallest structure in the New York borough.
