Revised Inquiry-Based Lesson Plan
This plan involves several teaching standards. These measures include the TESOL, content, and the nature of science standards. The main aim is to boost learning by increasing student’s ability to learn new scientific skills. Also, the teaching contained in this inquiry places a lot of emphasis on student performance, conditions, as well as teaching criteria. It proposes that learners be guided to come up with inquiry skills that help them to answer questions and make comparisons. In the entire learning objective, the performance of a learner is noted. Also, all the teaching conditions as well as methodology are provided. The facilitator must offer an easy way for the learners to understand basic terminologies (Goldston, p.534). The function of language is to facilitate communication and enhance understanding.
The teacher begins by eliciting the prerequisite knowledge to build on the current objectives. For instance, in studying life cycles of different organisms, the teacher can start by asking students to name some species. Also, learners can make attempts to explain some processes as well as asking questions. Giving examples open up student’s mind to explore other organisms within the same category. At the exploration phase, the student engagement is exposed to the activities and practices that require creativity and innovation. Assignments will help students to collect data, make predictions, and discuss issues among themselves.

All these contents are exposed during the explanation stage. Students can demonstrate to the teacher that they did exploration. The explanations provide a teacher with the ability to assess students’ understanding and exploration skills. An extension provides students with opportunities and common application areas. An evaluation is done to measure student understanding. This is done by use of continuous assessments, exams, and application puzzles. Examples should provide scientific knowledge for students to learn new processes such as new breeds and environmental variations. Teacher instructions should give recommendations that accommodate different learning needs.
