He traveled to the United Kingdom, Japan, Germany, Taiwan, and Switzerland and compare them to United States Healthcare. The interviews were quite shocking for this student. They showed that the United States health care costs are higher because of the for-profit model used by the insurance companies in the US. He compared family practices, hospitals, drug costs, and the methods for how the people received medical services and how much the costs were.
His documentary was very informative. He broke down each country for how they achieved healthcare for the whole country. These countries spent far less on insurance than the United States. The really shocking part was that most of the public was quite happy about the healthcare they receive from their specific government.
That both Japan and Taiwan had the best prices for most procedures and the people are among the healthiest on the planet. Both Japan and Taiwan had more people living per location, than any other country mentioned in the documentary and the cost was still lower.
Nothing in this documentary seemed poorly explained. The host spoke clearly when asking appropriate questions. There was convenient close captioning to translate when the people being interviewed did not speak English well. The only downside is how badly the United States healthcare system failed in the comparisons

It means that the UK government runs the National Health Service. It charges higher income taxes, but the UK believes no one should ever have to pay a medical bill.

It is their implementation of a Gatekeeper, which all medical services go through unless it is an emergency. This is a similar role that the United States’ version of a Primary Care Provider who plays Gatekeeper when a client needs a referral. Low prices create imbalances. Medical bankruptcy is rare, but it can happen.
“Japanese health is a bargain,” states Reid. Everyone has to sign up for healthcare. If they are employed, the employer pays for half or community base insurance. People who are low income, the government pays for them. The hospital and physicians are private and the government sets the current price every day. The cost does up, and Japan has one payment system and set the price.
Model is named for the 1880s Chancellor and used all over the world. Everyone must have healthcare; the rich can pay privately and opt out of public services. The Germans state the health is a priority when a person is unemployed it will continue because the government states that there is a relationship and keeping that person insured. It is very important for the prevention of illness.
They looked at dozen countries, and chose the best working parts and designed a health care system that worked better than other countries, from all the best parts of healthcare management. The government did not want to copy the United States healthcare because it bases on a free for-profit market. The Taiwanese felt that system was flawed. Every subscriber has a smart key technology. No medical bankruptcy allowed.

They had a system like the United States system and voluntary. That insurance law was approved by a slim margin. The United States admin cost was twenty-two percent, whereas the Swiss are five percent. Health care is cheaper in other countries.
