In the medical field, proper care and quality service are among the vital issues regarding healthcare. There are instances where the quality of services in healthcare, especially nursing has come into question. To deal with the matter, various principles and practices have been proposed as a measure of improving the quality of service in the nursing profession. Policies and methods ensure that the challenges faced regarding quality service are dealt with. One of the critical issues that affect quality service in nursing includes infection control. Infection control comes in different forms. All these forms present a challenge to the patient. With useful nursing principles and problems, the quality of service can be improved to prevent infections.
The lack of quality service in health care has been blamed on various factors. Addressing these factors will enable any health care professions, especially nurses to improve in quality health care service. Among the factors include an inefficient healthcare system as a whole as well as the lack of a systematic evaluation program (Izumi, 2012). When it comes to infection control, quality has been a significant contributor. The lack of quality service by the nurses has in some cases lead to infections in patients. To deal with diseases, strategies such as continuous quality improvement (CQI) model have been proposed. The model focuses more on the process of quality service and identifies ways in which the process can be improved to lead to quality services.

In summary, nurses are presented with the challenge of improving the quality of their services. One area which is affected most is infection control. By applying the CQI model, cases of infections in service delivery will be minimal as the model places emphasis on the process of service delivery.
