This presentation is a demonstration of the court cases presented to Hamilton County judges over a three years period. There were over 182,000 cases that 38 judges in the municipal, domestic relations and common plea courts. The objective of this statistical study is to assess the decision of the judges and their capacity to make mistakes. By using the understanding of probability, the judges are ranked to assess the likelihood of make decisions that can result to appeals.

In all the three courts, the number of cases disposed of was the highest. The municipal court had the highest number of cases presented while the domestic court had the lowest. In the municipal and common pleas courts, there was a proportionate number of cases dismissed, appealed and those reversed while in domestic courts, the decisions did not follow a specific trend. Therefore, there was a high probability that dismissed cases in common pleas and municipal courts will be appealed. However, the number of appealed and reversed cases in domestic court increased towards the third year but dropped in the fourth year.

Similarly, in the common pleas court, R. Winkler cases had the lowest chances of being appealed after dismissal, and therefore the probability of appeal was low.
