Biblically, Jesus Christ is God’s beloved son. His parents were the Virgin Mary, who was betrothed to the carpenter Joseph. The birth of Jesus Christ happened by the holy spirit, and also referred to as immaculate conception. He was a healer, a carpenter, and a prophet mostly referred to as the son of God. He spent His lifetime walking the land and educating humanity about his father, God. He did miracles including bringing Lazarus back to life, and converting water into wine (Calvin 12).
Jesus Christ lived for thirty years and was crucified on a cross in Calvary. Before his death, he was put on a criminal trial, and charged with inciting people not to pay taxes, perverting the nation, and declaring himself the king. He led a sinless life, but because of his love for humanity, he died for their sin. Three days later, He rose from the dead.
Jesus Christ’s mission was saving sinners. For God made Jesus Christ, His only son, to die for us on the cross so that we may be cleansed of our sins (2Cor 5:21). In John 10:10, Jesus said that the devil only came to steal, to kill, and to terminate and that his existence on earth was to give humankind a long-lasting life in abundance (Calvin 13).
He came to change human being’s way of thinking so that they may see God’s love. His existence on earth was motivated enormous desire to suffer for humankind. Additionally, he came to eliminate people’s iniquities showing them how to live.
